Earlier this week I couldn’t sleep so made this in a night; since refined a bit of course:
https://v0-student-learning-journey.vercel.app/
It shows a mostly hypothetical student data journey from Pre-K (Frog Street represent!) to a couple career changes and outside-of-college additional learning with some Coursera Data Science certificates.
But… not just the description of the learning standards attained or the open badge description… the JSON fields that would actually be used as well!
This was fun and didn’t take a ton of time thanks to being able to pull in the actual JSON files from CASE Network, or an LER-RS json I’d already created last week.
I actually got an unofficial transcript from my University and scanned that in to have it create an open badges version of it, which doesn’t exist I don’t think. Embarrassed about some of the grades on there, but hey it was 20 years ago…
Then the fun part was showing some of the common fields between specs… I debated having Abbreviated Statement be the ‘title’ for CASE but I don’t think that’s best practice for CASE 1.1 or ‘in practice’ from CASE 1.0 either!
I’m excited to work a little more on this, as the mood at 1edtech is more and more collaboration with other interoperability data models/API’s, so that users can get to that gold standard of an LER with linked URL’s to the verification statements for credentials and employment.
Shareable skills from Cradle to Gray exists! Let’s just get more of us with verified digital wallets! Play around, check out the interoperability equivalencies and let me know what you think!
